Gender of pronouns

The pronouns yo, tu, usted, and ustedes refer to persons of either gender, male or female. The other pronouns are more specific, masculine or femenine. El and the pronouns with an o (nosotros, vosotros, ellos) are masculine; the pronouns with an a (ella, nosotras, ellas) are femenine. When referring to a mixed group (masculine or femenine), use the masculine pronouns.
